…is one of the remedies that Dr Bach grouped together under the category of: “Despondency or Despair.
Introduction to the eleventh Bach Flower on my blog @AngelaWuerz.com
Elm is for those who feel overwhelmed by their workload. Typically confident, capable, and responsible, they may experience a sudden loss of self-assurance and become despondent. Elm types are often leaders or caretakers, such as doctors, teachers, therapists, or executives, who are deeply committed to the well-being of others.
This remedy is particularly indicated when these reliable individuals feel unable to manage their responsibilities or keep up with demands, often due to overloading themselves without adequate self-care. This can lead to feelings of exhaustion, depression, and a fleeting loss of self-worth. Even a brief doubt in their abilities can leave them feeling drained and ineffective.
The positive potential of Elm is a return to their natural sense of confidence, efficiency, and perspective. They regain the ability to prioritize tasks, recognize their limits, and ensure they take time to care for their own needs while maintaining their capable, balanced approach to life.
Dr Bach’s description
Those who are doing good work, are following the calling of their life and who hope to do something of importance, and this often for the benefit of humanity. At times there may be periods of depression when they feel that the task they have undertaken is too difficult, and not within the power of a human being.
